Welcome to Maui High's Mock Interview.  Thank you so much for your interest and time.
If possible, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to sign in at the office and get a visitor badge  If you are scheduled at 8:00 A.M., please keep in mind that there will be heavy school traffic.
When you arrive at the library, we will greet you and lead you to your assigned table where you may review your selected student applicants' job applications and resumes. You are to be the "employer" of the company that the student is "applying" to. The objective is for students to be exposed to this setting in order to practice their interviewing skills needed in the employment process.
STEP 1: Students "on-deck"

Once the Mock Interview session begins, we will have an “on-deck” area where students in the first round of interviews will be waiting for you to call their name to simulate the start of a real interview.
NOTE: The on-deck tables will be numbered based on your table #. Your student applicant will be waiting for you here.
STEP 2: Call on "student applicant"

Please walk from your table to the “on-deck” area and call the name of your first interviewee. Once that student goes with you to be interviewed, we will have your next "applicant" move up to the “on-deck” area. He/she will wait for you to call his/her name when you are ready. You will have about 4-5 student applicants per 1-hour block.
STEP 3: Interview
Interview the student for approximately 8 minutes. A sheet of interview questions will be provided for you in this packet and on the RESOURCES page of this website. Extra interview sheets will  be provided for you on the Mock Interview day if you'd like to take notes during the interview; however, taking notes is not required. This will just be based on your personal preference.
STEP 4: Debrief
After each interview, discuss with the student what his/her interviewing skills(strengths/ areas of improvement) are - Approximately 1-2 minutes.
STEP 5: Evaluate
Complete student’s Mock Interview Rubric/Feedback sheet -Approximately 1 minute. These sheets will also be provided to you. Students will be graded on their performance. Repeat steps 1-5 for next student applicant.
